JUST ARRIVED: GIBSON 1964 BYRDLAND IN STUNNING BLACK..! PLUS DID I MENTION JUST HOW RARE A CUSTOM COLOUR IS FROM 1964..! HIGHLY COLLECTIBLE.
This is a beautiful and rare Black Gibson Byrdland from 1964. At this time the pickups were Patent Numbers and just as great as the PAF's. This guitar has just gone through a full setup and polish from our luthier and now is just remarkable.
being a full deep black on the front and an almost transluscent black on the back, which we've tried to capture with the pics, although it looks 'brown' in the pics it's still pretty black. You can also see the flame maple both on the back of the neck and the guitar body.
The electrics, pickups, pot's etc are all original as the bridge features the nylon saddles.
Two tone and two volume knobs as well as a three way selector are featured.
The pickguard is also original as is the case.
Fretboard is ebony and is multi bound in black and white, inlays are is great condition as are the low style frets which are often seen in early gibson guitars.
Headstock of course looks super cool as does the tuners which are of course original.
You can see the serial 181111 through the finish as well.
Overall a very collectable and investment guitar espeically being a rare custom black colour and highly desirable.
If your in the market for such an instrument let me know and we look forward to hearing from you.
Weight is just over 3kg.
