JUST ARRIVED: 1967 GIBSON L5CES, 1 OWNER BOUGHT NEW IN PERTH.

Another beautiful 'one owner' guitar has just arrived, bought new in 1968 from Nicholsons of Perth.

The Gibson L5ces with the sharp cutaway, known as a 'Florentine' cutaway was only made for a few years in the mid 60's and discontinues around 1968.

This one has a beautiful flame on the sides as well as the neck, the back of the guitar has a mild quilting plus some flame as well.

The neck is ebony and features the block inlays and the headstock has the Flower Pot Logo, the tuners are replacement Schaller.

Replacement tuners are available from Kluson, I would suggest that an experienced luthier would be able to fill the schaller screw holes, install new Klusons, and by adding a black 'Stinger' on the headstock this should be able to cover the added holes. (my thoughts)

The pickups and electrics are all in great condition, some of the gold finish on the humbuckers has tarnished but the tailpiece with the L5 logo is still in beautiful condition.

Knobs are original and the pickguard is a replacement as the original ones tended to 'gas', so this was just replaced.

Overall the condition of the guitar is Excellent+++ and comes with it's original case, and yes tuners would need to be replaced but this should not a deal breaker. The guitar sounds and plays as you would expect as it's just gone for a full clean, polish and setup.

We can highly recommend this excellent guitar and whether your a jazz or rockabily player, a collector or someone who just loves Gibson guitars from the 60's, this would certaily be a great guitar to own.
