JUST IN: MATON GEORGE GOLLA ARCHTOP, KNOWN AS 'BETSY'
If you looking for a highly collectable Maton guitar, this George Golla is just the ticket.
The serial dates this guitar to July 1974, and with the assistance of legendary jazz guitarist George Golla this was produced by Maton Australia.
George is a great jazz guitarist known worldwide for his unique style and relaxed method/style.
This guitar is called Betsy, and this is only the second time we've come accross a guitar with a name, sort of gives it a soul of it's own.
This one is in beautiful condition as can be seen and features two humbuckers, the neck one has a small additional switch to make is a single coil, the controls are master volume plus two tone and two volume.
Tailpiece is original of course and the fretboard is in stunning condition as are the frets. Tuners are also original and in excellent condition.
The back of the guitar almost has no marks on it, which is a feature of a well cared for and loved guitar. Pickguard has the appreance of one of the ply's coming off so now it is a single ply white, any luthier should be able to make a black one to match and glue them together easily.
Overall, this is a highly collectable Maton and a desirable one to own, even if your just a collector you should certainly add this to your collection.
Highly recommended if your into jazz, fusion of gypsy jazz.
Case is original and on great condition with the orange style interior.
